Our Vision
Delight in the Lord (Psalm 37:4)
King’s Church delights in the historic Christian faith and longs to see God’s Kingdom come, His will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Jesus Christ is Lord (master) of all, the universal King over heaven and earth. God the Father has promised Him the nations as His inheritance (Psalm 2.8), and as His people, we call upon all the earth – beginning in our own community – to share with us in the confession of Jesus as Lord.
A Gospel as Big as Life (Romans 5:8)
We believe that Jesus’ Lordship is good news, because all who call upon Him as Lord will be saved (Romans 10.13) – delivered from the power and penalty of the evil which grips human beings and wreaks destruction in every aspect of life. Just as the fall of man into sin and rebellion has brought corruption, destruction and ill-health to every aspect of life, including the physical, social, emotional and more, so too we believe that the power of God brings healing and life to the whole person, “as far as the curse is found.”
Reaching Spokane (Isaiah 49:6)
Our vision, therefore, is to proclaim the good news of Christ’s kingdom to Spokane Valley sharing in this task with the churches of our community. This proclamation is one formed by the life-giving Word of God, which reshapes us by the Holy Spirit, renewing the ability to live in community with God and others, bringing back the peace and wholeness that has been destroyed through sin. This proclamation is also embodied through works of service, even as Christ’s own preaching ministry was accompanied by activities which healed His hearers, physically, materially, and socially. We long to see individuals serving the Lord, parents loving and training their families, churches giving all glory and honor to the Triune God, and statesmen ruling by the standards of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Reaching the World (Mark 16:15)
As members of the one universal Church of Jesus, we seek to partner in the task of discipling the peoples beyond our own doorstep by supporting and praying for God’s Church in her missionary endeavors of preaching the Gospel and caring for the needy.
